Does posture improve function
You never know what you’ll find in this blog. “Stand up straight”, “don’t slouch” - we hear this as children. Many of us have weaker core muscles, scoliosis and or other conditions which make it natural not to have good posture. So what are the benefits of better posture.
Fewer headaches, better joint health, Less muscle strain and better digestion are just some of the benefits. But is it really possible just to improve your posture? Probably not!!!
They key to improving posture is to embark on an activity program which at least in part focuses on your core. What does that mean?
It means that most of us have to spend more time making our abdominal and back muscles stronger. This will help all of your muscles operate more effectively. It will allow you to stand straighter for longer, avoid compressing your soft abdominal organs and breath better. It will improve your circulation and make you feel better. This is probably one of the ways that fitness and activity makes us feel better, and more vibrant and have less fatigue during the day.
